Plants on wrought iron fence

Pictured here is ground cover growing over the bottom rail of a wrought iron fence. Plants and other debris trap moisture against the fence which causes it to rust out and deteriorate. Remove plants from the bottom fence rail to insure a free flow of air. The free flow of air allows the fence dry out after it gets wet from sprinklers and rain. Keeping the fence dry increases the lifespan of your wrought iron fencing.
