Sherwin Williams Los Angeles Chargers Colors

The Los Angeles Chargers debuted in 1960 with one of the most dynamic color schemes in sports at the time. The team’s powder blue and gold were a reflection of the sunny blue skies that typify Southern California. When the Chargers relocated to San Diego the nest year, the team fittingly retained its summery colors. The powder blue was replaced by a dark royal blue in the mid-1970’s, and then navy blue by the mid-1980’s. In the early 2000’s, the Chargers brought back their fan-favorite powder blue as part of an alternate jersey design. After moving back to Los Angeles in 2017, the team returned to powder blue as its primary color in 2019.

The Chargers were founded by Barron Hilton in Los Angeles in 1959. The team moved 120 miles south to San Diego in 1961 due to competition from the Los Angeles Rams. The Chargers enjoyed high-scoring years from 1961 to 1965, winning four AFL West titles and one AFL championship.

When coach Don Coryell took over in 1978, the Chargers went on to win the AFC West division in 1979, 1980, and 1981 and made two AFC Championships.  In 2016, they announced that they were moving back to Los Angeles for the 2017 season after 56 years in San Diego. https://alllosangelespaintingcompany.com/2024/02/sherwin-williams-los-angeles-rams-colors/
