Water Damage to Painted Plaster

This picture shows water damage markings to a painted plaster wall. Paint bubbling in this pattern is evidence of a water leak in old plaster. Locate the source of the leak before repairing the wall. This damage is often caused by one or more of the following: Roof leak. Leaking chimney flashing. Bad seal around roof jacks. Air conditioning condensation line leak. Bathroom or shower overflow. Cracked stucco around a window.
