They joined the NFL in 1970. Use these Sherwin Williams Las Vegas Raiders colors for a room or office design update.
From 1972-2011, Al Davis was the principal owner of the Raiders. To this day, he remains the only executive in NFL history to be an assistant coach, head coach, general manager, commissioner, and owner. The Raiders moved to the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1982. In 1995, they moved back to their original city of Oakland. In 2020, the Raiders announced that they were moving to Las Vegas.
The Raiders played their first few seasons in black and gold. When the Raiders hired Al Davis as GM and Head Coach in 1963, he immediately redesigned the team’s uniform. He chose silver and black because they resembled the great army football teams he idolized in the 1940’s. Their iconic colors stayed with them through relocations to Los Angeles in 1982, back to Oakland in 1995, and Las Vegas in 2020.
